Brigadeiro Recipe

Ingredients:

1 can (or 395g) of condensed milk
3 tablespoons of cocoa powder (or chocolate powder)
1 tablespoon of unsalted butter
Chocolate sprinkles (optional), for rolling the brigadeiros

Instructions:

Preparation of Ingredients:

Measure out the ingredients and set them aside.
Prepare a bowl with chocolate sprinkles (if using).

Cooking:

In a saucepan with a thick bottom, combine the condensed milk, cocoa powder, and butter.
Mix the ingredients well until you get a homogeneous mixture.

Cooking the Brigadeiro:

Place the saucepan over low heat.
Stir constantly with a silicone spatula or wooden spoon to prevent the brigadeiro from sticking to the bottom of the pan and burning.
Cook for about 8 to 10 minutes, or until the mixture starts to come off the bottom of the pan and forms a consistent brigadeiro texture.

Cooling:

Remove the saucepan from the heat and pour the brigadeiro onto a plate or baking sheet greased with butter.
Let it cool at room temperature for a few minutes until it’s easy to handle.

Shaping the Brigadeiros:

With buttered hands, take small portions of brigadeiro and roll them into balls.
Roll the brigadeiro balls in chocolate sprinkles, covering them completely if desired.

Serving:

Place the brigadeiros in paper liners or on a serving tray.

Storage:

Brigadeiros can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or in the refrigerator for up to a week.

The quantity of brigadeiros produced can vary depending on the size of the portions you make. With this recipe, you can expect to make about 20 to 25 medium-sized brigadeiros. This should be enough to serve approximately 6 to 8 people, depending on each person’s appetite and individual portions. If you need to serve more people, you can easily double or triple the recipe as needed.

Now, your delicious brigadeiros are ready to be enjoyed! Enjoy!
